In partnership with the South Holland School District 151, the Van Moody Arts Academy was created to expose, develop and enhance the lives of children through music and arts education.

 

Whether your goal is to learn new skills or enhance what you already know, the Van Moody Arts Academy is the perfect place to build the foundation. As a student here, you will have access to our amazing, supportive network of trained educators who understand the importance of arts education and who are committed to creating life long learners.

Music education can help spark a child's imagination or ignite a lifetime of passion. When you provide a child with new worlds to explore and challenges to tackle, the possibilities are endless. Music education should not be a privilege for a lucky few, it should be a part of every child's world of possiblity.

Dr. Teresa Hill Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Teresa Hill is an educational leader with more than 26 years of experience working with students, educators, and leaders. She has served as Superintendent of South Holland District 151 in South Holland, IL since 2012. Dr. Hill has earned Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Elementary Education and Educational Administration from Illinois State University where she researched the achievement gap. Dr. Hill started her career teaching a kindergarten class of 31 students in an urban school. She has also served as an assistant principal, a principal, and an assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. 

Dr. Hill has devoted her career to combating achievement gaps. Her motto is "All children can learn . . . period." She has consulted with multiple school districts and presented at district, state, and national conferences across the United States, helping schools improve outcomes for underserved students. She is the author of The Instructional Leader’s Guide to Closing Achievement Gaps: Five Keys for Improving Student Outcomes (ASCD 2024).
